About Walenstein Symphony Orchestra

The Walenstein Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is the newest entity of The Walenstein Musical Organization. Its primary objective is to present high quality musical performances to the residents and visitors of South Florida and to offer a unique educational possibility for interactive learning. It is composed of some of the most talented high school and College students, as well as professional musicians. This venue provides a unique opportunity for the high school students to expand their knowledge and experience through the interaction with those in College, and where both college and high school students gain profound wisdom from the professionals.

Goals of Walenstein Symphony Orchestra

1. To increase the audience number to classical music through WSO’s outreach program and provide high quality musical entertainment to the classical audiences.

2. To provide educational orchestra training and performance opportunities to students grades 5 through college in order that they may be prepared to enter a career as a professional member of a symphony orchestra.

3. To offer tailored concert performances for children of prospective mothers 1 year before birth to 3 years of age, thus enhancing the Walenstein Musical Organization education program for psychological, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of babies and toddlers.

 What makes this orchestra unique?

What makes this orchestra unique is that all guest solo artists are extremely gifted prospect professional soloist; that is middle, high school, and college students; giving them the opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra and exposure to the public. Unfortunately, nonprofessional music students rarely have that opportunity, which is critical to musical development.
